Tualatin Valley Beekeepers



TVBA is a non-profit organization that provides community, advocacy, and education for those interested in raising honey bees and supporting their presence in the environment.


Getting Involved

Meetings

TVBA members meet monthly on the last Tuesday of the month at 6:00PM. There is social and question time, plus a special educational presentation.  (In July we have picnic and hands-on Bee Day instead of the usual meeting. ) **No meeting in December.  Meetings are in person at at Jessie Mays Community Center in North Plains and virtual online via Zoom.


Membership

Annual membership in TVBA costs $20 per household and goes from January 1 through December 31.  Benefits include our monthly newsletter, access to meetings and to the Honey House, our fully-equipped honey extraction facility.

Honey House

The TVBA Honey House is a fabulous community asset we maintain.  Extraction equipment is available to all members, normally from mid-July through Labor Day.  We have manual extractors available to check out for short-term use year-round as well.

MEMBER MEETINGS

Our next Meeting will be at 6pm at Jessie Mays Hall in North Plains at 6pm on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. 


We'll enjoy a presentation from our own Steve Gomes on queen rearing, banking and hive management.

Steve has kept honey bees for 45+ years. He is a Master Beekeeper and is a great resource and asset to our local beekeeping community. He is a board member of TVBA.

And we'll catch up with what's going on in our apiaries.
