The primary focus for Saturday in the Apiary, North Plains is education for beginning beekeepers from the OMBP, TVBA, and the Washington county 4-H. We hope to have a brief but flexible agenda for each session.
The open hives will run April through October. In April, May & October the open hive event will start at noon and go to 2:00PM due to cool temperatures. June-Sept. the open hive will run from 10:00 to noon.
We ask people to register in advance (email us at tualatinvalleybeekeepers@gmail.com) and will supply specific directions on how to find the Miles Seeley apiary, where the open hive will take place.
This is a potluck meal. Please bring an entree and side dish (salad, vegetables, fruit, etc.). TVBA will provide a drink, paper goods, utensils, and cookies. Come and enjoy the fellowship. We will have a hive inspection, flower garden tour, honey house tour and demo.
