Yep, laying workers are really difficult and may recommend the easiest and best solution getting rid of the bees.  Shaking them out somewhere in a remote location far from your hive has been mentioned as a solution.  Likely lots of info online if you google. There should definitely be local nucs available for sale at this time of year to replace that hive. I'll see if I can shake some info loose for you.

Thanks Ed. I thought about that but my Queen right hive is just getting started and I’m not sure it has enough resources to spare. I would hate to lose two hives if it doesn’t.

One option... Give them a frame with eggs from the queen right colony, and they can raise a new queen.

I installed 2 pkgs the end of April and had to release the queens about 4 days later as they were not yet released.  I fed 1:1 sugar syrup for the last couple weeks.  I inspected today (2 weeks after release) and one hive seems normal with pretty good brood pattern and various stages of larva and eggs.  The other hive I believe is queen less and now with laying workers as I have multiple eggs in multiple cells.  No capped brood except drones in what appears to be worker cells.  This is only my second year of beekeeping and it seems like there isn't a good solution to this.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thinking I need to shake off the bees away from the hive.  Wondering if anyone has a nuc they want to sell.
