Richard, this is GREAT to know. Thanks for making us aware of you as a resource for cut outs. Is there a preferred area for you to cover?

I see that the swarm list is limited to swarms, it seems you are referring cut outs to others.

I am geared up to do cut outs and have the tools and construction background and experience to be able to get the job done competently.

I'd like to have the opportunity to bid on these types of removals.

I'm also interested in meeting other like minded folks to assist or for support on these types of removals.

Hi Jason, sorry for bum luck, TVBA gets a number of calls and emails about bees inside buildings,  for which a rescue is called a "cut out." I had been recommending them to Bryan's Bees in Portland, who advertised doing cut outs and had the tools and know-how needed. But googling Bryan's now, I don't see a Portland office any longer. I did google bee cut outs and found that Oregon State Beekeepers has one contact posted now at https://orsba.org/classifieds/    TVBA also has some resources to help rescue/rehome native bumblebee colonies. For yellowjackets and wasps we let the pest control market have its way.

Our second swarm was also a bust as far as collecting. The hive had already moved into the roofline of the house. We had a good conversation with the owners and shared some info about bees.

Are there any good resources that we can share with people like this? Any recommended pest control companies when they are not bees or anyone who would do a removal like this when it would involve some carpentry work to remove the bees?

Jason has been reverted to his original position in the queue.  Sorry for the issue.

Hi Jason, sorry for your bad experience. It pays to ask the person reporting the swarm to snap and send a picture once you make contact with them, before heading to the location. Swarms may continue for several more weeks. If you would like, TVBA can reset your position on the swarm list so this trip doesn't count.

I finally was ready and able to claim a swarm alert today and it turned out to be a wasp nest in someone’s attic crawl space. Are we getting to the end of swarm season?
