    Hi Jan,

I am in Cornelius and would be more than happy to stop by and show you your queen!  :^)

I am not yet an advanced Beek (in training), I handle bees well and am a good second set of eyes, and close.

I want to up my bee mama game and would like a mentor.  I am coming out of my third winter (first year, engh and last year good), with this year my ladies doing cleansing flights, bringing polllen in, and are up to the sugar candy (peeked yesterday) – I just know that I can’t depend on benign neglect forever.

I have taken 4+ beginner bee classes and have signed up TVBA’s March classes (always something that I am not too sure about).  But, this year, I have plans to move from deeps to mediums; I went from one hive last year to two (not on purpose, think I interrupted a swarm and then went queenless without knowing that was going on); I can’t find anywhere what to do if you don’t want to split/do you just let them swarm?  I also want to get beyond powered sugar testing, and get set up with oxalic acid for mite treatment.  Also, I want accountability – ask me the questions, make me go find the answers.  Finally, am almost embarrassed to say that I maybe have seen my queen (as in one hive) once.

I live off of Baseline and 37th in Hillsboro.  My 2 hives are in my backyard.  I would definitely be a “project”, but hope that I could offer something back in return for your time.

    Thanks!
