    https://youtu.be/-vFYqZ7Ojwk  You don't need to buy queens, the bees will make a new queen from eggs. This is the first step in starting your own line of bees. Splitting now will help you keep that over-wintered queen. I saw yesterday in my yard, the bees are scouting for a new nest location. Split now to keep your queen from flying away and have plenty of season left to build a strong colony from the split.
