3 of my hives failed to re-queen.

I'm trying to figure out why I'm having such a poor return.

Meanwhile I have 3 queenless boxes.

Any help? I'll even take queen cells.

Cash or trade, can pick up asap.

Wow! I cannot get a queen mated this year. Where are all my queens going?

I am afraid to do splits that need to be done....

    I'm about to give up.

I, too, find myself with three queen-less hives (my total apiary). All had last year's queens (I didn't re-queen), but in the past they've done fine by themselves. I don't know what happened this year.

I had thought two of the hives were looking good, but checked them today, every frame, and almost no brood in any, no eggs or larvae or queens. All three hives are filling all the frames with honey right now. I'm not feeding, so at least it'll be edible and not from syrup.

It seems my hives are beyond re-queening at this point because I have no brood to carry a new queen over and no working hives to take a frame from. I think my only salvation right now would be a swarm or two. I'm bummed.

    Hope you do better, Rick.

Things worked out better than my doom and gloom, I checked them a week or so later and have brood. (I'm glad I did not do anything rash) Things took a week or two longer than I expected. Confidence is restored.   :^)

    Blackberries are on the menu.

How are yours? Need a frame of eggs? (I have a couple of boomers) Do late season splits/re-queens work here in the valley? Is there enough fall forage for healthy winter bees? You have drawn comb and food, they should take right off.

Queens actually showed up in two of my hives as well. Guess I was just a bit impatient. They're both doing very well, all set for the nectar flow.
